I have a wide range of research interests, including machine learning, deep learning and their application to computational biology, with a focus on developing tools to solve real world problems.

Zhiwen Yang 杨志文

I’m a final-year undergraduate student in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Tianyuan Class) at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Yangzhou University, and a research student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). My research interests include Mathematical Modeling, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computational Biology, Dynamical Systems and AI in Healthcare.

Previously, I was a visiting student at the Laboratory for Proteome Complexity Science, Westlake University, fortunate to be advised by Prof. Tiannan Guo. During my undergraduate studies, I have also been advised by Prof. Lai Zhang on projects related to mathematical modeling and biomathematics at Yangzhou University.

  • Dec 2025, China National Invention Patent CN 119558222 was granted.

  • Sep 2025, started as a Research Student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), working on robust machine learning benchmarks (Supervisor: Prof. Jun Xia).

  • Jul 2025, attended Red Bird Challenge Camp at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou).

  • Aug 2025, will be joining Guomics at Westlake University as a visiting student to continue my research work offline. 🎉

  • May 2025, National Undergraduate Training Program for Innovation, served as Project Leader, was successfully concluded and recognized as an “Excellent Project”.

  • May 2025, began as a remote research intern with Prof. Tiannan Guo’s group at Westlake University, focusing on proteomics and AI.

  • Apr 2025, receive a full scholarship to attend the SDG Global Summer School at the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University. 🙌

  • Jan 2025, Coupled algorithm patent was officially published.

  • Nov 2024, honored to be named a Science Pioneer” by Yangzhou University, only 10 students.

  • Nov 2024, MedSegKAN is accepted by ICGIP.

  • Sep 2024, began my term as President of the Mathematical Modeling Association at Yangzhou University.
